I am very sorry for the recent months of us not posting anything and not recording. We all have been very busy with life and we are slowly freeing up time so we can make this work. We love pod-casting and want to continue to do it. We have no plans to stop anytime soon. Mike, Jay, and I will be recording tomorrow and will have another episode up shortly after. Sooo starting Monday I hope all of us will be back in the full swing of things.. again sorry for sucking it up the past couple months..

Razer Sphex gaming mouse mat review

Razer is a company that makes gaming grade devices for the PC and recently consoles. What the definition of gaming grade is, I don’t know but I do know their products offer features that is hard to find anywhere else. The Razer Sphex, an ultra-thin gaming mouse mat or skin, I recently received for a birthday present. I normally don’t use a mouse pad for two reasons, one they move around while gaming and two because of their thickness they raise the mouse higher and hit my wrist as I move. Why did I opt for the Razer Sphex? My desk surface is starting to wear down leaving areas that drag the mouse more than others and the Sphex is as thin as a piece of poster board so you really don’t even know it is there. I am using a Razer Salmosa infrared mouse on this mat and immediately I noticed how consistently smooth it glides. For this reason it was totally worth the $15 for this skin because now I have much more control and my wrist does less work. Mat companies always advertise better tracking. I did not notice any change, but I didn’t have any problems with tracking before. The mat has a sticky bottom so it adheres itself to the desk surface making it impossible to slide or move. You can unpeel the Sphex and reapply it but I noticed this can cause the mat to stretch in certain areas which leads to the bubbling and crackling noise people complain about. I recommend unpeeling as little as possible. This is best used for desktop computers and people who do small to medium size swipping. Despite the advertised reapply sticking feature I wouldn’t recommend this for people with laptops thinking they can stick and unstick the mat every time the move. I wish it was slightly larger but it works great and is everything I wanted.
